In 2017, Gallup reported that 87% of the workforce are not actively engaged at work. You don’t need a statistic to know that. You’ve already been thinking about how to better motivate your team but you are torn between the entitlement of “those darn millennials” and being vulnerable enough to say that even if you wanted to engage your people, you are unsure of where to start.

Let me help you

Onboarding Program Design and Implementation

Onboarding is the opportunity to make a first impression with new employees. It’s a chance to get them acclimated to what life will be like inside your organization. This process is very important but it should be more than about rehashing the benefits that you offer. Together, we design a program that helps employees understand how best to thrive within the organization and how the company tackles challenges. Additionally, if we can establish internal or external coaches/mentors that support the new employee through their first year, then we have increased your chances for retention.

Manager as Coach Trainings

Only 21% of millennials agree that their performance is managed in a way that motivates them to do outstanding work (Gallup’s “State of the American Workplace, 2017). Many managers have not been equipped with the skills necessary to develop and offer ongoing feedback to this generation. As a coach, I know that these skills can be taught and even the simplest techniques can foster more open discussions and allow managers to become more engaged leaders that spills over into their teams.

Learning and Career Development Programs

87% of this generation rate “professional or career growth and development opportunities” as important to them in a job. However, only 39% strongly agree they have learned something new in the past 30 days that they can use to do their job better (How Millennials Want to Work and Live). Employees want to be developed and equipped with information that will lead them into the future. They also want a snapshot of what the future entails. Together, we outline a vision for the future that includes upskilling and developing your current employees.

Internship Programs

Your internship program is the pipeline for your next generation of employees. If you don’t see it that way then you’re certainly underutilizing the value that a well-designed program can bring to your employment brand.

Workshop Implementation

Partnering with your for-profit or nonprofit organization to deliver an impactful workshop, a lunch and learn, or a power breakfast that empowers your team and moves your organization forward.
